Spare parts for bodywork

Postby PARR » Fri Dec 02, 2011 9:03 pm

I was browsing e-bay (as you do) for Stepwgn bits, and clicked on the link for 'see all international sellers' - this brought up several pages each of 50 items - mostly from a company called UKEROO in Japan - the adverts were in English.
I was a bit surprised at the prices (the stuff is second-hand with no guarantee) - but even more by the transport charges.
Examples are 1) rear door assembly at just over £100, but transport charges over £1000, and the same for a fuel tank.
Door mirror assemblies range from £125 to £250, but again transport very high.
(When you think about it, it only costs about £1200 to bring over the whole vehicle!)

Interesting find.

They have some door mirror assemblies for £38 + £77 p&p or the same ones for £115 + "free" p&p. Or depending on how you search, they also have quite a few of them for £89 + "free" p&p as in this link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-STEPWGN ... 4ab13d79d2

The Caravan Channel (yes I know I'm sad and lonely and should get out more) did a feature on Watling Towbars http://www.caravanchannel.co.uk/?cid=7&vid=192 who have a Stepwgn towbar in their price list, which at £180 is more than ebay, but I thought I'd document its availability while we're (almost) on the subject. See http://www.watling-towbars.co.uk/

Beware the import charges - the ebay seller small print says so!

Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up - do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.

You have been warned! :o
