Front passenger seat removal

Postby Scrap » Fri Sep 02, 2011 7:04 pm

Hi all

I'm thinking of removing the front passenger seat to create more storage space when I'm camping as it's surplus to requirements.

Does anyone know how to?

Will it affect the airbag?

I guess I'll also need to bypass the switch which prevents taking the van out of "park" if the seat is not facing forwards.

Regards,

Brian

I have not tried this Brian but usually there are some "stops" to ensure the seat does not slide off in an accident.

You could try this way :o :

Here is a more useful one from Honda

Hi Lewis

Thanks for the reply.

I've had a look under the four plastic covers at the ends of the runners and it seems as though I just need to remove the bolt under each and disconnect the electrical connection under the seat. Then it should just lift out so I won't need to try your first method.
All I should need to do then is bypass the switch which prevents taking out of "Park" if the seat is not facing forwards.

As the holiday season is almost over I probably won't try it until next Spring.

Saw a white "Y" reg Stepwgn in Peterborough last week (from the top deck of a bus). Any takers?
