General technical Q&A for the Honda Stepwagon

high pitched whine upper part of engine 2.0 RF1

Postby Stevef+ » Tue May 07, 2013 3:44 pm

Hi there. Has anyone experienced a high pitched whine with the engine at idle, which continues for a few seconds after the engine has been switched off.

This is not audible in the cabin and while driving. It cannot be heard from uder the Stepwagon (2001 RF1 2.0) and can only be heard from the top.

Not sure if it a sign of a vacuum / PCV leak or something electrical. Have checked for loose vacuum pipes or connectors.

Just wondering if it is a common fault before getting it check out. Thanks if you have any suggestions at all. Cheers all SteveF :?:
