rear versus full conversion

Postby chrissie195 » Thu Mar 25, 2010 10:59 am

Me again! sorry for bombarding with topic posts but as a newbie I have a LOT of questions!

does anyone have a rear conversion (where the sink, cooker etc is in the 'boot' space of the vehicle and the extra row of seating is retained? I saw a SW for sale recently with this type of conversion and Wellhouse leisure have a vehicle for sale with the option of either this (cheaper) or the full conversion.
Just wondered what anyone's experience of having the rear conversion might be ...
thanks
Chrissie

Chrissie

I haven't got either type of conversion, but I do know that you can get removable kitchen units like this one for the Bongo http://mazdasgl.com/partconversions.php or this one for the T4 http://www.swcampers.co.uk/index.php?op ... cle&id=104 if you want to retain the flexibility of being able to use it as a people carrier as well as a camper.

For me, the Steppie is too to small have precious space and bed area taken up with any sort of conversion (I already have the Field Deck factory lifting roof). When I get round to using it a lot for camping I think I'll get an OzTent awning (which erects in 30 secs, they claim) to have as the main living area and just use a normal camping stove and portable fridge.
