has anybody bought a drive away awning for their sw, as we are looking for one and would like to know which model or make to get, and how have they attached it to the side of the van.

The ones pictured at the bottom of this page are good. You just need to fix a length of awning rail where the side of the van meets the roof. On our van (II - 1999) there's a wide strip of plastic trim that is perfectly placed and strong enough for fixing.
