Hi, Scrap,
Nice to know that the 'hard-core' (don't misinterpret that) is still around.
I'm planning my next trip - to go around the EU etc - done it before - but it might be next year - Brittany, South of France, Tuscany, Bavaria and then home. The last one I did I got 10 litres to 100 km- the book says 10.2 so that's better. Cheapest petrol was in Luxembourg, most expensive France. Spain has shot up in price. The best one is in a place called Livigno in the Dolomites - duty free - usually only €1.18 per litre!
Have a good trip yourself.
