General technical Q&A for the Honda Stepwagon

towbars

Postby iain » Tue Aug 02, 2011 1:08 pm

We have been trying to get hold of a towbar for our Stepwagon ("Y" reg, "RF3" chassis) - does anyone have any idea where we might find one? Is fitting single electrics a problem? Do you need to cut the bumper to fit a towbar? many thanks for your help!

Many advertised on ebay - probably about 8 to 10 different ones, but some are shown several times.

Just an update on towbar, it has been fitted, found it on ebay £93 with electrics. Due to my stepwagon having a rear camper conversion its wasn't a simple job as the floor where the bolts go in had wood under the carpet, a 2 holes had to be cut to get them through. Just by luck they had access as it was where the leisure battery and water container were so these could be removed easily. Labour came to £120 not to bad all considered. At one point I thought they might have to take the conversion out or just go without towbar!
So if you want a towbar and are thinking about a conversion in the rear put the towbar on first! :)
