Hi everyone

I thought is might be useful to list companies which we have used to buy our Stepwagons from. Please add your name to the list:

Vantastic = japanese auto locators

I think Vantastic got his van from the same place as we did - JAL from Inkberrow near Worcester. The campervan conversion is undoubtedly excellent, but there were one or two things not quite finished that we are going to have to contact JAL about.

But I'd certainly recommend them.

Iain.

We got ours from Wellhouse Leisure in Huddersfield.
There were a few minor problems when we first collected it, but these were quickly sorted out.
Their after sales and servicing is the best i have had dealings with. I drive over 40K business miles a year, in a variety of company vehicles, so I have dealt with alot of servicing departments, and i would not want to take our Stepwagon to any of them.

I got mine from Oldham, as in a previous thread they're not very good. The car is but their preparation/ PDI isn't. '50% (thickness)or we change the brake pads' I was told, 'yes we underseal all of our models' and 'they all have a fog light fitted and are MOT'd for 12 months'. I'm a HGV technician/ mechanic watever you want to call it for 30 years and have a 'little' experience working on cars. I know a not working side lt is a fail ('it must've been working at the time') you don't use 30 amp cable for a fog light and wrap it over gear change mechanism, the F pads were scarily thin, I mean literally paper thin and the underseal must have been sprayed on by someone lying next to the vehicle spraying what he could see while having a nap. The wheel arch covers had not been removed, engine bay, bonnet, tail gate or door inners not touched. The more I delve into the the car the more I think the importers are ammatures, I know they're only salesmen at the end of the day but if you set yourself up as a specialist (importer) surely you would take a bit of pride :lol: in your profession, surely.

Brown's Car Sales, Mundford, Norfolk.
Unconverted 1999 RF2, 85000kms.
They fitted four snow tyres (Pirelli) on request at almost trade, and wired in an extra rear fog light in the N/S rear cluster for continental use.
Also at cost rear parking sensors.
6 months warranty and 6 months tax, with the usual 12 month MOT.
Very helpful.
Now a 'happy camper'!!

Goodmayes motors in Purfleet, Essex (not far from Tilbury docks).

David Critchlow imports all sorts of cars from Japan (including a few Stepwagons).
Reasonable prices, straightforward bloke, stock is worth looking at.
