At service, informed that the catalyser heat shield was corroded - both upper and lower.
As you know, I get everything done that is suspect on my Steppy.
Ian@bongofury could not supply, and Honda UK state that this (these) items are discontinued.
Enter jp-carparts.com - they had the items in stock @ $42.09 each - part nos 18181-PNC-000 and 18182-PNC-000.
Ordered, and was charged about $50 for DHL delivery.
Despatched Monday 14 july from Japan - in Hong Kong within 9 hours - but Hong Kong charged £27.00 tax!
Estimated delivery, however is Friday 28th July. Hope it's right.
Excellent service - thank you jp-carparts.com.

Surely this is not hard to fabricate in the UK from some sheet metal and paint with heat protective paint?

Hi, Vantastic,
Yes, you are probably right, but the originals looked like grandma's lace curtains and fell apart on removal.
There is a local blacksmith who might have been able to do it - the exploded diagrams on jp-carparts could have been a guide, but I am usually happier with the original fittings.
Now waiting for front shockers - over $240 EACH - £40 cheaper via Belgium but a few weeks wait as opposed to jp-carparts for $260 each = $141 by DHL
Strange that no other Honda vehicle uses these when several of the suspension/brake parts are.

I need to check my heat shields next time I can bear to put on a boilersuit! Not this week!
